The sacrifice of our front liners

Frontliners or health care workers are the first and often only point of contact with the health system for millions of people. With the right training, support, incentives and

supervision, these cadres of health workers can help to expand coverage of key preventative, promotive and curative services to otherwise underserved populations. They are the one who sacrifices all they can, all they have for us filipinos. All of them are our heroes during this pandemic.

I would like to thanks to all the healthcare workers on the front line who are risking their health caring for patients who have confirmed or possible coronavirus infection, while continuing to care for patients who have other medical conditions. Keep safe always.

Pandemic ka lang, I am a filipino

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air,

and quickly fall on floors or surfaces. You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth.

Most common symptoms are fever, dry, cough, and tiredness. Less common symptoms are aches and pains, sore throat, diarrhoea, conjunctivitis, headache, and loss of taste or smell. And the serious symptoms are difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain or pressure loss of speech or movement, and many more.

Seek immediate medical attention if you have serious symptoms. Always call before visiting your doctor or health facility. People with mild symptoms who are otherwise healthy should manage their symptoms at home. On average it takes 5–6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for symptoms to show, however it can take up to 14 days.

The last and joyful quarter in grade 10

Image result for reflection In my 4th quarter in ICT class, I've gained a lot of lessons about Adobe Photoshop. I've learned the uses of Adobe Photoshop and the parts of this application. Doing our activities in our 4th quarter ICT class are very enjoyable.

In the 4thquarter, I encountered some challenges in our ICT class. Sometimes I can't follow to our lesson because sometimes our teacher is so quick to discuss about our lesson and in this 4th quarter she is very busy from the office and because of the uncountable meetings and too much celebration, and she is very busy also in doing the requirements in our school.

I overcome all of this through the help of my classmates and who guide me in our activities, who explain to me our lessons clearly. I overcome those by asking questions to our teacher about the lessons that I can't understand and searching in the internet for the lessons that I can't really understand.

Moving on, I will used all lessons I've learned from this quarter and share it to other people who didn't know the uses and parts of the Adobe Photoshop. I will share my knowledge about the lesson that I've learned in this quarter to the grade 9 students so that they can easily understand their 4th lessons if they were in grade 10.

My dream for my future

As a normal person, i'm also have my own ambition. My ambition is to become an engineer. It is not just an ambition but i want it to become a reality to my life. It is true that years of hard work are required to become an engineer, but after of three years of college studying engineering, you can make good money. In fact, engineering is one of the few fields that let you earn good pay after only three years. Right now, three years might sound like a long time, but it's worth it. Consider it one of the best investment you can make. Besides, it's not all about the money. It is also an interesting work.

Engineering is a very broad field. There are so many types of engineering, that there is bound to be one you find interest in. Since science and technology are constantly expanding, there will always be new problems to solve-you'll rarely be bored. Unlike other jobs that require you to do the same thing over and over, the work of engineers greatly varies.

kannawidan festival 2020

Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the northern part of Luzon. It is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the “Kannadiwan Festival”.It is a celebration that lasts from the last week of January up to the first week of February. Included in the course of events is the commemoration of the foundation day of the province.Image result for kannawidan"

One mission of the festival is paying more attention to the children. It is because of the observation that many traditions, songs, dances, and other Ilocano culture are not recognized by the younger generations of the province. Instead, children are paying more attention to the modern and novelty dances they see television than the traditional ones. It is one of the reasons why the Kannadiwan Festival is conducted.

Change: It starts With Me

Image result for change"            Change starts with me??? We must all change the way we think and act. I am responsible for the way I think and act. It would be tomfoolery to place the responsibility of my transformation in character, in the hands of another. Maturity starts when we own our mistakes and take the necessary action of correcting them. Change however does not occur in isolation. Positive change starts with me. Discovering what it is that needs to change in our own hearts, lives, motives and actions is the key to exploring and eventually discovering peace; not only personal, internal peace but peace with others and with the world at large.

I just woke up one day and decided I didn't like this to feel anymore, or even again. So I changed. I had a lot of exusesfor not being to change, but at the end of the day, they were excuses. Being able to change it is starts with your decision to change.

Vigan City Fiesta Celebrations

The Vigan City Fiesta is held every January 25. It is celebrated during the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle. St. Paul is Vigan City’s patron saint. Before his conversion, St. Paul was known as Saul, a zealous persecutor of Christians. After he was touched by a personal encounter with Jesus Christ on his way to Damascus, his name was changed to Paul and he endured a lot of hardships and danger to spread the word of God to far places.

The biggest secular festival is the Vigan Town Fiesta, a week-long celebration consisting of carnivals, parades, musical extravaganzas, beauty contests and nightly cultural shows. It culminates on January 25 with the celebration of the conversion of St Paul the Apostle, the town’s patron saint. Almost straight after that comes the Kannawidan Ilocos, a recent addition to the festival calendar at the end of January celebrating the culture of the whole of Ilocos Sur, not just Vigan. It includes a “battle of the bands” and a beauty contest.

The Essence of CHRISTMAS

Image result for essence of christmas          Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. A time for us to understand the lessons from Jesus & reflect on them. Jesus brought a new religion based on love & the vision of a God who is full of compassion & forgiveness; a vision of doing everything with a positive mindset & from a place of love.

This month, I heard three different people talk about December, they all said the same thing:, oh my “its December, an expensive month”. This caught my attention, why is it that people are talking about an expensive month instead of being happy that it is almost Christmas. We give each other presents but do we really know the essence of Christmas?. Jesus himself said, “love thy neighbour as thy self”.

Christmas is not all about merry making. We must also spare time to reflect on the essence of the period which is the love of God for humanity. This unquantifiable love is summed up in the popular bible verse John 3: 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave us his only begotten son, that whosoever believe in him will not perish but have eternal life.”When we ponder on God’s love for us, we too are encouraged to share love with others, to embrace peace and be our brother’s keeper. When we are imbued with this love of God, we will be always willing to give a helping hand to those in need, to give succour and comfort to the vulnerable ones among others. Last Christmas and this year 2019 was very happy, joyful and cool, and I wish that this incoming Christmas and New Year are much better than last year.

GAD-VAWC Celebration

Gender equality plays a crucial role in development. The Gender and Development (GAD) focal point at NAPC actively promotes the advancement of women by combating the feminization of poverty through a series of GAD activities. This year, the newly-formed GAD committee has scheduled capacity-development building among NAPC staff and the basic sectors. Key activities include Gender-Sensitivity Training (GST) and Gender-Responsive Planning (GRP). This is to create gender awareness, identify gender issues, and establish a unified action plan in order to address them.
Image result for gad-vawc
Some projects are included, such activities for women's empowerment as the GREAT Women Project, Grassroots Mobilization for Legislative Agenda on RH, Women's Month, Women and the Environment Month, Women's Health Day, and 16-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).

Violence against women and children is a serious public health concern, with costs at multiple levels of society. Although violence is a threat to everyone, women and children are particularly susceptible to victimization because they often have fewer rights or lack appropriate means of protection. In some societies certain types of violence are deemed socially or legally acceptable, thereby contributing further to the risk to women and children.

In the past decade research has documented the growing magnitude of such violence, but gaps in the data still remain. Victims of violence of any type fear stigmatization or societal condemnation and thus often hesitate to report crimes. The issue is compounded by the fact that for women and children the perpetrators are often people they know and because some countries lack laws or regulations protecting victims.

Environment Awareness Month

Environmental awareness is to understand the fragility of our environment and the importance of its protection. Promoting environmental awareness is an easy way to become an environmental steward and participate in creating a brighter future for our children.

Image result for environmental awareness month
To define environmental awareness we must first understand the environmentalist movement. Environmentalism is an ideology that evokes the necessity and responsibility of humans to respect, protect, and preserve the natural world from its anthropogenic (caused by humans) afflictions.

Environmental awareness is an integral part of the movement’s success. By teaching our friends and family that the physical environment is fragile and indispensable we can begin fixing the problems that threaten it.

Numerous resources are available to promote environmental awareness; group learning, informational and inspirational seminars, environmental books and brochures are just a few of the tools that can get you involved in promoting the environment.
