One mission of the festival is paying more attention to the children. It is because of the observation that many traditions, songs, dances, and other Ilocano culture are not recognized by the younger generations of the province. Instead, children are paying more attention to the modern and novelty dances they see television than the traditional ones. It is one of the reasons why the Kannadiwan Festival is conducted.

Change: It starts With Me
Change starts with me??? We must all change the way we think and act. I am responsible for the way I think and act. It would be tomfoolery to place the responsibility of my transformation in character, in the hands of another. Maturity starts when we own our mistakes and take the necessary action of correcting them. Change however does not occur in isolation. Positive change starts with me. Discovering what it is that needs to change in our own hearts, lives, motives and actions is the key to exploring and eventually discovering peace; not only personal, internal peace but peace with others and with the world at large.
I just woke up one day and decided I didn't like this to feel anymore, or even again. So I changed. I had a lot of exusesfor not being to change, but at the end of the day, they were excuses. Being able to change it is starts with your decision to change.

Vigan City Fiesta Celebrations
The Vigan City Fiesta is held every January 25. It is celebrated during the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle. St. Paul is Vigan City’s patron saint. Before his conversion, St. Paul was known as Saul, a zealous persecutor of Christians. After he was touched by a personal encounter with Jesus Christ on his way to Damascus, his name was changed to Paul and he endured a lot of hardships and danger to spread the word of God to far places.
The biggest secular festival is the Vigan Town Fiesta, a week-long celebration consisting of carnivals, parades, musical extravaganzas, beauty contests and nightly cultural shows. It culminates on January 25 with the celebration of the conversion of St Paul the Apostle, the town’s patron saint. Almost straight after that comes the Kannawidan Ilocos, a recent addition to the festival calendar at the end of January celebrating the culture of the whole of Ilocos Sur, not just Vigan. It includes a “battle of the bands” and a beauty contest.

New Year New Me!
“New year, new me.Before the clock strikes midnight it’s as if there is magic in the air. My hopes are so high and I just can’t wait for 2020 to roll itself in. Because a new year automatically means you are going to be a different person. I mean why wouldn’t it? You have thrown your new years resolutions to the universe and you know they will be granted 12:01 a.m. on 2020.The beginning of a New Year is an exciting time, but remember that a “new year” doesn’t mean you are automatically a “new you;” you’ve got to work a little bit for that!
It’s about that time of year again. I can feel it all around. 2020 has come to a close and I am creating now my list again for my incoming 2021. I am going to be hard working student for this year! I am going to attend church every Sunday. Learn how to cook, be adventurous, put myself out there more, be a lovable, and caring son, brother and also to our every relatives and love ones, have no more regrets, create memories, and many more.
