The celebration of Buwan ng Wika is not just a part of our history, it is also what keeps us united as a nation. Here in our country, every month of August we are celebrating the "Buwan ng Wika" to commemorate and remember our national language which is Filipino. We have 8 main languages here in our country such as Iloko, Visaya, Iligaynon, Capangpangan, Waray, Pangasinense, Bicolano, and our national language wich is Tagalog. Linguistic or the scientific study of language is greatly influenced by history, culture, social and political factors of our country.
Indigenous language is a language that is native to a region this is spoken by indigenous people. This is also a local means of communication between members of a people or community. this is the first language that we have learned in our life. For indigenous people's languages not only identify their origin or membership in a community, they also carry the ethical values of their community.
I don't just want to celebrate this occasion. I want to understand what it means. I also want to see the importance of this occasion and why it needs to be commemorate every year. I want to really know why they should embrace our mother tongue and how they could take their Filipino identity to heart. I really want to know the importance of the "Buwan ng Wika" or "Linggo ng Wika".
